Town and country planners look after the optimal utilisation of land, and plan a town or country's growth in an orderly and aesthetic manner, at both the local and regional levels. The work necessitates conducting field surveys and analyses and formulating broad goals and development plans for an area, which are presented in the form of scale models, drawings, diagrams, charts, photographs, sketches, etc.
Eligibility: A post graduate level course in town planning / architecture.
A course in Town and Country Planning is offered at the postgraduate level to BEs in civil engineering or architecture, or those with an MA in geography, sociology or economics. A holder of a degree or a diploma from any recognised institution or one who has passed the AMIE examination of the Institute of Town Planners (India) can become a town and country planning engineer.
Course Details:It is a postgraduate level degree course of 2 years' duration.
